Large-Scale After-Hours Teleradiology Across 64 Hospitals
A teleradiology provider reviewed 124,870 examinations for 64 hospitals in California during 2003. The average reporting turnaround time was 12.2 minutes. Ninety-three per cent of examinations were reported within 30 minutes, while 99% were completed within one hour. CT represented 74% of the workload. The analysis demonstrated that outsourced after-hours reporting could operate at significant scale while maintaining structured quality-assurance and turnaround monitoring.
